I attended the 2016 Morningstar Investment Conference in London and spoke to both San Lie, Director of Manager Research at Morningstar Benelux (the Amsterdam based-branch of the company) & James Donald – Portfolio Manager/Analyst on the Emerging Markets Equity team and Head of the Emerging Markets Group at Lazard Asset Management.
The interviews were conducted as part of Share Radio’s bi-weekly ‘Responsible Investment’ show – whereby we take a closer look at investing in companies in a socially conscious way when it comes to the environment and other key global issues.
Previously I was involved with conducting interviews with Fairtrade organisations, however this edition of the show centered around ESG – for a definition of what that is see below:

Both San Lie and James Donald specialize in analysis of firms in terms of ESG, looking at how they conduct themselves and whether they are a safe bet for investors, though James’ focus lies mostly in emerging market companies in developing nations.
The show also features interviews from Share Radio reporter Matt Cox.
